Government Fraud

Robin Green represents individuals under the False Claims Act. These "whistleblower" lawsuits, brought on behalf of the government, are to recover taxpayer money obtained by fraud, misrepresentation or dishonesty.  They are sometimes referred to as qui tam cases.

Ben Franklin famously said, "There is no kind of dishonesty into which otherwise good people more easily and frequently fall than that of defrauding the government."

False Claims Act cases arise from the dishonesty of those contracting directly with the government.  Examples are over charging, failing to deliver goods or services promised, or promising to provide a certain product and delivering an inferior product.  Such dishonesty is found in healthcare (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.), government construction, or goods and services delivered to the armed forces.  False Claims cases usually require "inside" information available only to the executives and other employees who have direct knowledge of services being provided to the government.

These cases are always complex and expensive. The courageous whistleblowers who bring these actions provide great service to taxpayers and to a free society.
